Salvation is here, don't lose it.

So, a few days back, i realised that some guys would go to huge extents to impress a girl, and i don't know whether to laugh or feel inferior. haha. So i would like to share some lines i heard that guys actually do use, not realising how stupid they look. In Singapore, if any of it ever worked, it would be only be due to the reason the girl had just finished a fantastic fantasy romance novel/movie. haha. But ya, here they are.

1) Did i just see heaven or did you just smile at me?
2) Do u have a map, i got lost in your eyes.
3) Is your father a terrorist? Cause you're da bomb.
4) You must be tired, always having to run through my mind
5) Could i borrow your handphone? I promised my mum i would call when i found the one.
6) Pardon me, I seem to have lost my phone number, could I borrow yours?
7) Didn't i just see you on miss world last night?
8) Somebody better call God and tell him an angel's missing
9) Your name must be Mickey because your so fine.
10) Are we near the airport or is that just my heart taking off?

(No offense to those who have ever used them before, i truly admire your courage. haha. )

Anyways, my Sat went pretty well, mainly cause no projects were touched. Sleeping in "rox my sox". Come to think about it, i do it almost everyday. School starts at 2pm on Mon, Tues and Wed, 12pm on Thurs. Had Thai express for lunch with mum, sister and aunty anne and off to church. Sometimes its great just to be worshipping with the congregation rather than always playing the drums, which was exactly what happened today. Thanks Sam and Les for the drumsticks, and Liz for the card. =)

The message today was awesome, Terence spoke. I sort of agreed with him when he said that to him, being a good youth speaker isn't all about making the youths laugh every min. And he proved it with what he spoke about, not being his usual self always cracking a joke or 2.

I shall try to make it a point to write about a message after i hear each time so i can better remember it and at the same time, hopefully encourage some.
Some of us proclaim we are saved but when we look deep inside, we somehow can't seem to say that anymore. And today i learned, there are ways to find out or to put it another way, signs to realise that you are saved.
(These signs are supposed to be constant, as salvation is not just a one time issue!)

Namely:
1. Are you still believing that Jesus is the Christ? A "believing" not so simple as believing your mother gave birth to you.
2. Do you have a desire for God's word and want to follow it?
3. Are you sensitive to sin? Meaning do you have a battle raging in you when you face a situation so close to sin.
4. Is your desire for God bigger than the things of this world? You may say you have turned your eyes upon Jesus but is your world growing strangely dim?
5. Do you see a decreasing pattern of sin in your life?
6. Is the Holy Spirit working in your life?

Answer these questions, and you'll know if salvation really is in your life.
Oh, something was mentioned today that really struck me.
Many of us repent and to us, that means turning away from something, period.
But we fail to see the second part which is the most important, running away after turning away.

Salvation is here, don't lose it. Till then.
