And it's surprising that i've died from the hype earlier in the night.
God is awesome. Indeed.
We got to York hotel and were a little disappointed since we thought the whole SAC was gonna attend their prom. But whatever, the crowd was perfect. (: We dumped our stuff down and went off to relax for awhile taking pictures on the lower rooftop. Sound check. Things couldn't get any better. The whole mix sounded great. Off to change into our shirts since some of the girls were already there, all dolled and made up. And i'm glad we left then to pray as a band, God still deserves the glory.
Dinner! The food was good, and there were like tons of leftovers. The only thing you can be sure of in a girls school's prom i suppose. Next up, A FASHION SHOW, which was nothing close to making us vomit out what we just ate, if you know what i mean. You go girl. West grand went up for their set soon after, boy could they perform. A million things to learn from them. Humble, professional, cool and friendly.
Our set. Time to conquer neveousness. The crowd was awesome! Screaming and shouting along to the music and even dancing. Get this, someone cried while rach sang bleeding love. Yes, cried. hahaha. We did the cliche-est cover ever for a prom, graduation by Vitamin C. But I'm glad we did, you could totally feel the whole "I don't wanna graduate from SAC!!!" thing. And we got asked for an encore for some songs.! For a first gig together as a band, what more could we ask for. But no, God opens doors, and when he does, he likes opening many.
- We got paid even though we told them there was no need. - Some manager asked for our contact so she could call us next week for other events. - We got invited by West Grand to play along with them on their school invasion tour! (You know, the kind where bands go to secondary schools to play)
AWESOME. All in just one night.
We've got recordings for the gig, a million pictures that char kindly took for us, and a whole journey ahead of us. I love SAC, i love the band, and i love God.
