The week ends.

I was just watching the news and saw this statement by Goh Chok Tong, our Senior Minister.
'The weather is so bad, and we've always said the reserves are for a rainy day. If this is not a rainy day, I don't know what is a rainy day.'

The recession hasn't really taken its toll on me in heavy ways yet, but i suppose it may have for some. And i can only thank God for his providence for me. Hopefully we'll soon move from this time.

Yet again, the feeling isn't so great or hysterical once you realise that all the projects are over despite it even threatening to spoil your Chinese New Year with a deadline. However, it does bring some sort of a relief and achievement that the projects have been conquered. And once i get you (tests) over and done with, i'll be taking bites of 'time', bit by bit as if it were a mega mcspciy.

Chinese New Year

The past 2 days of CNY has been rather fun having to see all the relatives again, relatives that i see only once a year but seem so easy to talk to. Of course there are those that you keep trying year after year to relate to (although you guys are related, get it get it?), but don't seem to get any results. Then again, the red packet solves all the problems.

Come to think of it, what would families be like without CNY, a time to refresh our memories that we do actually have a bed of roses to fall back on should we need. A time where you get together with those bonded to you by blood and everyone is all smiles as you raise that pair of chopsticks as high as possible only to realise all the ingredients have dropped right back into the plate (or most probably onto someone else's hand).

You'd probably have to squeeze your way through to get to the other end of the living room with everyone standing around the tables shouting and screaming. Your body's always a little sticky because it's so hot and the place feels like a wet market but you're comfortable. The kids you would probably feel like slapping when you're in public making all the little noises, choosing only the crackers from the "lou hei" (you guys totally know what i mean) and laughing at everything suddenly seem like little angels whose smiles would easily melt your heart. Not one person isn't happy. And that was my CNY, simple yet so awesome in its very own way, better than a million red packets i would say.

Band wise, it seems that things are finally starting to take place yet again with the school invasion tour finding its way to us somehow and our vid was uploaded on facebook by one of West Grand's. We've got a few of our own originals and will probably hit the studios down in Feb when we are all much free-er. In any case, thank God for opening so many doors. Of course, when there are open doors, we have to take a step to walk through. I like what BenC. said once, "we've gotta move on and not remain stoked about that night at SAC's prom". I think he said something along that line and what else could i do besides totally agreeing with him. It will probably take time and hardwork, and i suppose, that's where passion steps in.

In any case, happy CNY everyone. (=

Till then.
