Childhood Sweethearts

So at church yesterday, or rather during lunch, the topic on childhood sweethearts somehow seemed to arise due to my choice of dials. It's always fun to think back isn't it, on that girl/boy you used to always percieve to be someone so cool, maybe mysterious or just plain jane-ish. How you would look forward each time to see that person again and plan exactly what to do, but when you do meet that person again, somehow you crumble down and nothing falls into place. And when that person leaves, you start reproaching yourself on how much of an idiot you were. Oh, being in primary school, or for some of you, kindergarten (crazy young pervs) was fun, fun, fun.

And now i start to wonder, wasn't it funny how your heart got pumping all so fast, you sweat and you started speaking gibberish when you saw him/her. But it was all worth it wasn't it? For that few minutes when you could see his/her face (HAIR STAND), at least during then.

I'd like to share what i call a sort of standard route a Singaporean kid would follow.

1. No such thing as gender difference, we're all friends. (1-5 yrs old)
2. You now know there's a difference between girls and boys. May find opposite sex interesting. (6-7 yrs old)
3. The opposite sex was the worst choice God had made! Gross! (8-10 yrs old)
4. You start to find the opposite sex really attractive but daren't admit to your similar sex friends. (10-12 yrs old)
5. Don't pretend you don't know what happens from now. (12-x yrs old)

Familiar?

Moving on. The band had our 2nd practise yesterday, which has somehow boosted my excitement and confidence towards the event since the songs are running smoothly and the second opinions were good enough for my standards. It's a miracle we're playing together as a band. Rach and lyd had to mention that a girl's school prom isn't really swayed towards our style of music though. And we can only hope. hahaha. Speaking of which, rachtan has joined us for the event to murder us with her glorious voice. Whoopee. I always wanted to snap a picture or 2 of the band but hype never fails to rob you of your to-do's. Shall do soon.

Rachtan claimed that she got bored studying today and somehow concocted this.

Yes, our band name is "Hope for Monday"

Why?
Yes, there is a meaning behind it. Jesus died for us and rose again on Sunday, "Hope for Monday" is just the not so literal version of the event- representing, victory and more importantly hope for all of us. Indeed.
On a lighter note, our music hopes to reach a level where we can cure a severe case of Monday Blues. hahaha.

Do tag if you have something to say about the name, i would be interested to know. (:

We finally have a band name after wrecking our heads. Now back to what drink starts with "U"....

In any case, here are some of the pictures from Saturday's cell outing at hortpark, which was something i really needed from the suffering of the first 2 weeks of school. hahaha. Hortpark's a nice place. Something different from all the other parks i would say. Get there soon before it starts getting dirty, like all the other parks in Sg. And experience the long treetop walk from there to Vivo. But remember to go with the right company, like i did. (:

Happy!

With such friends, who could miss the end year youth camp? Here's the pub video. EVERYONE'S INVITED. Seriously.

And that was the weekend.
I totally dragged waking up for school today, and it wasn't just the typical monday blues, but rather something worse. Well, looking on the brighter side, that goes to show i really enjoyed my weekend to want to fall back into the weekdays. (:

Right now, you're the only reason.

Till then.
